<Whitelupine> He hadn’t been able to sleep so the graying kangal had gotten up and left the tunnels to go for a walk along the beach. His paws sinking into the sand as he went along on his three legs. He’d hum and look out to the sea which shimmered a bit from the moonlight. His aging copper eyes watched the waves as he sat down slowly and let out a calm sigh.

ElectricSimphony>Gretta happened to be roaming around that area, lonely and confused on this new island; she walked with pride and elegance, but by only looking at her blue eyes you could tell the dog was a little bit frightened. She had been captured by humans once more, and had ended up on this strange new piece of land, that reeked with the hodor of other dogs she was yet to meet.

<Whitelupine> Beo was staring out into the ocean when the scent of a stranger filled his nose, he scented Trieste and turned his head, standing up to look as the white dog approached. His copper eyes locking onto her. His expression was steady and stoic, hard to tell what he was really thinking honestly as she walked closer. He wondered if he should go or not, he’d rather not deal with a fight right now if she was hostile.

<ElectricSimphony>The shepherd stopped right on her tracks as she felt another presence nearby; this was not Di Trieste territory, and she didn't feel engaging in a fight was proper for a lady. Her fluffy tail shot up, signaling she was fully aware of the other dog standing only meters away from her. Gretta's expression changed into that of curiousity, and letting her instinct guide her, she padded over gently, sniffing the air around the dog politely. "Well, hello" she greeted, lifting her eyebrows at the new scent.

<Whitelupine> Beo stood still as she approached, keep his head high a bit to show he was a mid ranker in his pack, lest she think he was weak based on his appearance. “Good evening miss.” He said in his soft voice, despite not knowing her, he was still going to be a gentleman. “Far from your pack aren’t you?”

<ElectricSimphony>The shepherd flashed a half smile at the male, seeing how smart he seemed to be. Allowing her tail to relax into a soft wag, Gretta looked at him carefully, studying his appearance. The missing limb surprised her slightly, but she was sure not to look at it too long before returning to his eyes. "Indeed, I simply went out for a walk" she flicked an ear, and thought over the possibilities of this dog being agressive, which was quite unlikely seeing how he had spoken to her. "What's your name, if I might intrude?" her voice was smooth but a little raspy, cool yet slightly seductive. Her intentions for the moment were simply to get some knowledge from the canine, and using her words and regal attitude were the best way to do so. Aside from being nice of course.

<Whitelupine> When the female relaxed so did Beo, seeing no threat in her he’d sit down slowly, his graying muzzle pointed towards her and that shiny necklace around her neck “You were a pet then?” he asked calmly “Ah, yes, it’s nice to walk and clear your head on nights like this. Only the moon and stars to judge you.” He said looking up to the twinkling lights before looking back to the female, hearing that slight tone of seduction. Damn it’d been a while, no Beo, she’s Trieste. The kangal mix sat upright “my name is Beo. And what’s yours, miss?”

<ElectricSimphony>She copied the male and sat down, curling her tail around her paws before looking up at the sky, following Beo's gaze with interest; he truly seemed like a nice guy, so she toned down the act slightly. But, her vocal tone and raspy voice were not something she could get rid of. "Beo" she repeated, seeing how it sounded when she said it with her slight accent. "Im Gretta, nice to meet you" she introduced, eyes shining at the mesmerizing view the clear sky offered. Seeing how the dog had figured out her pet past quite quickly, she chuckled, amused at how she had forgotten how cunning this dogs could be. "Indeed I was. Those days are long gone, of course." she replied with equal calmness.

<Whitelupine> “Miss Gretta.” He said her name softly and with a charming accent that seemed to fade in and out naturally. “I only asked because I was a pet as well. Never liked humans once. They have a knack for turning our kind into monsters.” He said as if speaking of himself. His looks. He’d look to her with his calm copper eyes which were bordered by graying fur. “It is a lovely night though, the way your eyes capture the moon, it’s like the stars themselves have been captured in your gaze.”

<ElectricSimphony> Gretta was slightly taken aback by the kind remark, which the dog considered waaay to kind; luckily, growing up with lots of unrespectful males and females, Gretta knew better than falling into other's traps. She smiled at him in return, simply out of politeness and not wnating to hurt him; no need to be rude about it. "Why thank you. Yes, I can understand that; quite some of the pets I met where pretty monstrous beings" she commented, studying his eyes with her own, searching for an emotion or a feeling to grasp onto or analyse. It wasn't deliberate, it was simply in the shepherds nature to try and analyse individuals, as if they were numbers on a piece of paper.

<Whitelupine> Beo eyed her calmly, purposely keeping his face stoic, he felt her studying him, he’d meant what he said with that compliment. Beo may look like he’d been hit by a car, but he still held himself as a gentlemen and a bit of a charmer. His gaze held on her eyes, as if he was teasing her, as if he was just barely cracking open a door to allow her into his mind but kept shutting it when she got close enough. “It’s a peaceful night.” He’d say calmly. “I enjoy being able to just sit and talk with someone. Makes the rest of the world kind of stand back for a moment and let me have peace.”

<ElectricSimphony>Gretta evnetually just gave up on this mental fight, and settled for the nice comments instead; it was clear the dog was troubled though, seeing how he had repeatedly spoken about monsters and lack of peace. She couldn't say she disagreed though, seeing how the sky was indeed a beautiful thing to observe, with it's shining stars and vast dark sky, that looked like an empty canvas. "Well, I am glad to hear you are enjoying our chat" she began, smiling a genuinely sensitive smile. "That is very poetic, Beo. Peace can be gone sometimes, yes."

<Whitelupine> The aging kangal smiled at her, letting his charm and whatever handsomeness he might hold shine through in that smile, it was a rare sight on Beo, a genuine smile as he enjoyed the female’s company. “I find that the harder I look for peace, the more it evades me, but, when I stop and allow it to come to me… it seems more willing to appear.” He said looking to her as if hinting this talk was bringing him peace.

<ElectricSimphony>Gretta felt that sincere smile from the dog, and had the feeling all of the judging she had seen in her short life was slowly coming to an end; she didn't judge him for having one limb less, just as he didn't seem to judge her by her fancy appearance. The conversation was also beginning to touch her and connect to her in different ways, and gazing down at the sand briefly, she added her bit into the conversation, seeing no harm in opening up a little bit. She might've been wrong, but the shepherd also wanted to let go of some steam. "Some say peace is not to be found, but it is to be made. You are meant to make peace with yourself, to find the real beauty in life" she analyzed, hoping her words sounded logical. They were scattered around her brain, since the female could be a little disperse and unfocused when it came to personal talk.

<Whitelupine> Beo sat calmly listening to her speak. His cropped ears lifting a bit at her words. “… Miss Gretta if I may make a bold statement… ..I believe beauty is sitting beside me..” he said and looked to her eyes once more. Letting his door open just a bit to reveal the young male hidden beneath his looks and age. The slightly shy male who only sought affection and acceptance. Hidden beneath the scars and gray, Beo was a youthful soul, even if his body betrayed that fact.

<ElectricSimphony>Gretta could feel how the situation was slipping from her paws; having grown up surrounded by manipulating and calculating dogs, the shepherd did not trust others easily, and was profusely against having crushes or strong emotions for others, seeing how it could all finally be an act. But the statement was so blunt it caught her off guard and sent her into a happiness spiral. Looking at him with a soft smile, she realized what a gentle soul he was, despite his looks. He might've looked like a warrior, but Gretta thought Beo was a soft, tactful mind full of emotions and sensitivity. "Oh, you flatter me" she thanked, looking down at her paws briefly in a slight moment of embarassment. She was attempting to reboot her mind, to push everything away and think clearly once more; she had just joined Di Trieste, and she was already doing something she wasn't sure was allowed. This dog was from another pack, and it would be wrong to have anything more than a friendly exchange of words. She didn't know what Vice might say if he found out, since she was just beginning to remember an important rule that had slipped from her memory. Gretta looked up to him greatly as a leader, and loosing his respect wasn't something she intended to do.

<Whitelupine> Beo returned her smile, he liked this female, she was lovely and well spoken, he felt something odd twinge in his chest, something he hadn’t felt since he’d been put to the friend zone by two females he’d fallen for. The kangal blinked, a look of confusion crossing his eyes, he’d hum a bit then stand up slowly, eyeing her he’d step closer to her, head and docked tail raised, it’d been so long since he’d felt a female. “..Miss Greeta….” He said in a low tone, letting his voice go into a sensual baritone as he leaned a little closer to her. “…I will walk you home.” His voice went back to normal. “It’s late…” he really didn’t want her to part from him but, she was stirring up emotions he’d battled hard to push down. His door was opening up dangerously far now.

<ElectricSimphony> Gretta was ready to step on the question and deny the answer; but, this was far different from what she had imagined. Once again, her memories of how males usually behaved, thinking they were the kings of the world, where playing with her mind into thinking Beo was like that. With a relieved chuckle, Gretta stood up and turned to start the walk back to Di Trieste. "Thank you Beo, I really appreciate it" she said gratefully, walking with ease and a lightness in her paws. In a way, she was happy to be able to leave and forget any of this had happened, and push back down the weird feelings this dog was stirring up in her. She felt bad though, considering how lonely he seemed, probably due to his missing limb and scarred face; she wasn't perfect, but Gretta fell inside the judgemental group, generally getting freaked out by deformities or unusual looks. Yet, her curiousity to learn more and meet new dogs had pulled her into approaching Beo in the first place, and after seeing how nice and toned down he was, she had completely forgotten about his appearance.

<Whitelupine> Beo moved to walk beside her, limping as he went however he held himself tall and proud. “Miss Gretta… I believe… .it would be best if we do not meet again after this.” He’d speak honestly and openly with her.”So… should there be anything you wish to ask me, I’d like you to ask freely and openly now.” He said keeping his eyes forward. He too wanted to forget this, that any feelings had stirred within him.

<ElectricSimphony>Gretta was so glad to hear him say that, it didn't take her long to reply. With a courteous nod, she turned to him again; seeing him limp like that hit her hard, but she pushed it away and focused on the question. "I agree with you... though, I am afraid there is nothing for me to ask. You were open enough Beo, for me to cover all the doubts I had about you" she said sincerely but with a distant nature, keeping her blue gaze forward once again, after replying to his statement. It was better that way, to leae it just as a brief burst of friendship between the two; Gretta was incredibly down to earth most times, and she could not believe how stupid she had been to break such a simple rule as the buddy system. But on the bright side, it meant she would be able to get right back down to work, and forget Beo quickly. Was she focused or was she unbelieveably cold and morally incorrect? She wasn't sure. But she knew she couldn't change her ways, nor the fact whatever was going on with Beo could not advance any further.

<Whitelupine> Beo looked to her, relieved she had no doubts in him, it was a good feeling to know he’d done right by her in the short time they’d known each other. “Miss… I would not ask this if I did not want to know genuinely.. but.. ..may I embrace you… just for a moment?” he’d pause and look at her, his cropped ears drooping back. “if you say no, it will not hurt me but, I do not want to touch you and end up upsetting you.” He said softly. One small embrace, that is all he needed, he told himself.

<ElectricSimphony>The question rang around in Gretta's ears, like a dangerous bark warning her of forbidden ground. Holding on to the oath she had sworn to only days before, to be loyal to Di Trieste and only them, and remembering how people and dogs could not be trusted easily, Gretta found the courage and coldness to deny Beo's wish. Gretta thought greatly of herself, and if he was as cunning as she was, it was a dangerous thing to accept contact. Her expression, nor her posture changed, but her muscles tensed lightly beneth her white coat. "I'd prefer if you didn't, Beo. I do not really like such things." she said gently, holding on as tight as she could to her coldness and tactical mind, attempting to push emotions away aswell as guilt. She didn't exactly like physical contact that much, that was certainly true, so she didn't feel guilty or longing for the hug Beo was offering. She felt guilty because she was allowing him to play around with her head; and that didn't happen offen.

<Whitelupine> Beo could tell her answer even before she spoke it. He kept his expression stoic despite feeling his chest tighten. He’d nod slowly then keep walking towards Treiste territory “Let’s get you home then Miss…” he’d say softly, of course Beo, remember how you look, remember the way you speak and the monstrous appearance you host. What if she had accepted your affections? What then? Shame her for the rest of your life by dragging down her beauty with your hideous body? The aging kangal tried to keep these thoughts back but, he’d experienced too much to ignore them. He felt a fool to believe that she’d felt the same as he did. The Trieste territory would come into view and Beo paused “this is your stop Miss Gretta…” he spoke softly, eyes forward.

<ElectricSimphony>Her tail flew up as the familiar scent came into her nostrils, and she turned her head over her shoulder to say goodbye to the kind dog. "Thank you Beo. This was very nice of you... I hope you have a nice evening" she said with a light smile on her muzzle before walking away and towards her home. The sounds of her surroundings kept her busy enough for her to forget the alarming experience, and focus only on getting back to the old hospital. Once there, she looked back up at the stary night sky one last time before entering the structure. She felt guilty about breaking the buddy rule, and guilty of hurting Beo, and of letting him mess with her head. But most of all, Gretta felt the necessity to right her wrongs; and that meant talking to the Boss and telling Vice what she had done. It wasn't really something that bad, she had just left the territory without a companion, with no permission to then engange in friendly mingle with a Di Fogna mutt. Way to go, Gretta. She would genuinely apologize for her mistakes to the boss, and offer any kind of work or aid in return for his forgiveness. She had truly enjoyed Beo's company and words; but the friendship could not go any further.

<Whitelupine> Beo nodded kindly to her and watched her as she walked for her home. He made sure she got into the building safely before he’d turn and walk into the night, his mind whirling with thoughts and his heart feeling torn, it’d been so long since he’d felt those emotions that went further than just physical. He felt like he’d met someone on a spiritual level, their souls seemed to have called out for each others. “No.” he’d say out loud to no one and shake his head. “No you old fool…” he’d say softly then make his way into the night alone with his thoughts.

Something seems to have sparked only to be dashed out~
