Will You Stay?

Mist swirled and played around the two stallions that made their way through the long dead forest, the chimeric stallion kept his head up and eyes forward as he inhaled deeply, trying to catch the scent of the group of other ballators he had seen just minutes before. The stallion that accompanied him, a dunskin roan, let out a bored sigh. "Duos, they're gone" he said in his deep, monotone voice. "That stallion with them... " the chimeric stallion, Duos, said absentmindedly "his horns were like glass..." The other stallion Silicis snorted out a laugh at that comment "You sure you didn't eat some rotten meat? Horns of glass?" he fell silent as Duos stopped and stared into the mist. "...Duos?" he asked curiously, craning his neck slightly to look at the other stallion. "Silicis. Will you stay?" Duos finally asked, his eyes not leaving the mist before them, Silicis tilted his head, confused by the question that had come seemingly no where. "Stay? what do you mean? Like stay here?" he asked, Duos' eyes never moved "No... with me... If I go forward with what I intend to do with the Hyalus barer and his group...would you still look upon me as a friend? Or as a monster like the others have." Silicis looked to his friend, who finally broke his staring contest with the mist to look to him. "Duos... it's not like I have anywhere else to go, and SOMEONE has to make sure you don't get yourself killed, and when you finally meet this Highlord of yours I want to be there beside you, watching as you get your blessing or whatever you call it." Silicis spoke with a smile and held it even when Duos looked away and continued walking.
